The MLT-D208 cartridges are used in numerous Samsung printers, including but not limited to the SCX-5635 and SCX-5835. Both of these models were introduced in the spring of 2009, print at 35 pages per minute (ppm) and have duty cycles of 80,000 pages per month. The main differences between the two models is the standard and maximum paper capacity, system memory and available options.
Printers ship with 5,000 page yield starter cartridges that are physically the same as the 10,000 page high yield cartridges, but filled with less toner. To be converted for use as a 10,000 page yielding replacement cartridge a high yield chip is required, along with the correct toner load. 4,000 page standard yield replacement cartridges are also available.
Printers utilizing MLT-D208 cartridges will not print with a chip missing from the replacement cartridge.
